1) days details
DAY – 1 | SIEM REAP | MEETING
Welcome to Cambodia, the land of Khmer temples!
After your arrival in Siem Reap, you can check into your 4-star hotel by 2:00 PM and enjoy the beautiful swimming pools. At 5:00 PM, you will attend a briefing to meet your team and equipment. This is a great opportunity to get to know your fellow riders and learn about the gear you will be using. After the briefing, there will be a welcome drink to toast the beginning of the adventure. Dinner will be served, and you can then choose to relax by the pool or take a tuk-tuk trip into town.
|
Important information: This first day we are not driving. If you have already been in Cambodia for a few days to explore the top 10 of the Angkor site, we can book a few additional nights at the hotel we have chosen for you. This will allow you to relax and enjoy your time in Cambodia even more.
DAY 1 | LOOP AROUND SIEM REAP | 180KM
After a refreshing swim or a hearty breakfast, you'll set off on your bikes for a day of exploration along the Tonle Sap river, one of the sources of the largest freshwater lake in Southeast Asia.
You will go through the Angkor National Park, home to some of the most impressive temples in the world. You'll stop at Banteay Srei, a finely carved temple known as the "Fortress of Women." Next, you'll climb to the top of Phnom Koulen, a sacred mountain that is home to a giant reclining Buddha. The climb is steep, but the views from the top are worth it. In the afternoon, you'll cool off at a waterfall in the national park. The journey finally leads us to the fantastic temple where was shot Deux Frères in 2004, Jean Jacques Annaud's film, before a return to our hotel for a well deserved rest after this rich adventure. |
|
- Included accomodation: the same comfortable resort as the first night.
- Included meals: breakfast and lunch.
- Included Khmer massage: 1h30.
DAY 2 | SIEM REAP TO PREAH VIHEAR | 200KM
The route to Preah Vihear
We can leave a little later this morning, feeling well-rested and refreshed after our Khmer massage. We're ready to ride our motorbikes north to the temple of Preah Vihear, which is perched on a cliff 500 meters above sea level. This UNESCO World Heritage Site offers stunning views of the surrounding countryside, and we're excited to explore it.
|
|
Note: In Cambodia, it takes longer to ride the same distance than in Western countries!
DAY 3 | PREAH VIHEAR TO STUNG TRENG | 260KM
This is the longest day of the tour, but it is also the most refreshing. We ride our motorbikes at a brisk pace on red laterite tracks that are generally in good condition. The scenery is stunning, and we pass through lush forests.
We stop at the waterfalls on the Laotian border, which are some of the most impressive in Cambodia. The falls are incredibly powerful and noisy, and they are a truly awe-inspiring sight. We arrive at our hotel in Stung Treng in the late afternoon. We can enjoy a leisurely dinner along the Mekong.
|
Note: You can rest assured that you will sleep well that night!
DAY 4 | STUNG TRENG TO BANLUNG | 150KM
On an easy road, we drive to the cool, mountainous region of Ratanakiri in northeastern Cambodia.
The afternoon is an opportunity to take a dip in the emerald waters of Yeak Laom Lake, a volcanic crater lake, and visit a village of an ancient ethnic community.
|
|
DAY 6 | REST / LOOP AROUND SEN MONOROM | 100KM
Day of rest in Mondolkiri.
We can choose to explore a road that leads to the Mondolkiri gold diggers or relax near a waterfall.
|
|
DAY 7 | SEN MONOROM TO KRATIE | 200KM
We follow the Mekong River out of the mountains for our last night in Mondolkiri. We enjoy a delicious meal before resting, taking in one last sight of the majestic river.
|
|
DAY 8 | TO PHNOM PENH | 240KM
Today, we follow the Mekong River back to Phnom Penh. The journey is long, but the scenery along the river is worth it.
We stop for lunch in Kampong Cham, where we can visit a traditional bamboo bridge. In the early evening, we will have a debriefing with a free aperitif.
|
Note: It was your last day with your motorcycle, the massage will get you back in shape to forget the aches or other cramps after this long journey not so long but intense.
