1) days details
DAY – 1 | PHNOM PENH | MEETING
Welcome to Phnom Penh, Cambodia!
Join us for a day of discovery in the capital city of Phnom Penh. After lunch at our 4-star hotel, we'll take a tuk-tuk to the showroom of Royal Enfield, where you'll have the opportunity to inspect your bikes and take them for a spin around the dealership. In the evening, we'll gather for a briefing about the team and the equipment, followed by a drink and dinner. This is a great opportunity to get to know your fellow travelers and learn more about the upcoming adventure. Cambodia is a land of contrasts, from the bustling metropolis of Phnom Penh to the ancient temples of Angkor Wat. This is a country with a rich history and culture, and we're excited to share it with you.
|
Note about the preparation:
After picking up your motorbikes from Royal Enfield, you will have the afternoon to meet your fellow travelers and prepare for your 10-day journey. This tour includes some routes of over 200 kilometers, so it is important to be in good physical condition and motivated. |
DAY 1 | PHNOM PENH TO KEP | 230KM
After breakfast, we prepare our bikes and ride along the Mekong River towards the sea. Along the way, we will visit a temple-mountain and then look for the best restaurant to taste the famous blue crayfish of Lake Takeo.
A short drive later, we arrive in Kep in time to cool off by the sea. |
|
- Accommodation: 4-star resort with swimming pool
- Included meals: breakfast and lunch
DAY 2 | KEP TO SIHANOUKVILLE | 180KM
A shorter route, but no less memorable
This day's ride may be shorter than others, but it will be no less memorable. We will climb the Bokor hill station, 1,000 meters above sea level, and take its new dirt road. Along the way, we will enjoy stunning views of the surrounding countryside and have the opportunity to swim on a white sand beach once in Sihanoukville. |
- Accommodation: 3-star hotel
- Included meals: breakfast and lunch
DAY 3 | SIHANOUKVILLE TO KOH KONG | 230KM
A refreshing detour to Koh Kong
After a day of riding on a nice stretch of paved road, we take a small detour to cool off at the Tataï waterfall. This refreshing stop is a welcome respite before arriving at Koh Kong, a border town with Thailand. Koh Kong is a mixture of sea, mountains, military area, and beautiful mangroves that are slowly disappearing. We will spend our last night by the sea before continuing our journey the next day. |
- Accommodation: 3-star hotel
- Included meals: breakfast and lunch on the road
DAY 4 | KOH KONG TO BATTAMBANG | 300KM
A challenging ride to Battambang
We wake up early this morning to face a somewhat difficult dirt and sand road along the Thai border. Our motorbikes, equipped with the right tires for this adventure, will help us make it through. After a few switchbacks on a good twisty portion of bitumen below the mountain, we arrive in Battambang, where a circus show awaits us in the early evening. Phare Ponleu Selpak, or "Light of the Arts," is a prestigious Cambodian association that has a base with its circus tent in Battambang. We hope you enjoy an international circus show to close this long day! Fortunately, the hotel with pool is comfortable for us to regenerate for the rest of the trip.
|
Note: To travel the 300 kilometers of this day safely in Cambodia, we must take to the road as early as 6:00 AM.
DAY 5 | BATTAMBANG TO SIEM REAP | 320KM
A spiritual journey to Prasat Mebon
We take a wooden bridge to the ruins of Prasat Mebon, a Hindu temple that is little known and less frequented by tourists. This does not make it any less beautiful or rich in history. On weekends, the temple is often visited by Khmer families on pilgrimage or Sunday outings. However, on weekdays, the place is quieter and more conducive to spirituality. After our visit to the temple, we return to our comfortable hotel for a well-deserved rest. |
- Accommodation: 4-star resort with 2 swimming pools
- Included meals: breakfast and lunch on the road
DAY 6 | REST IN SIEM REAP (OR SMALL VISIT AT A TEMPLE) | 0KM
A day of rest in Siem Reap
After more than 1,000 kilometers of travel, this day of rest in one of Cambodia's most beautiful cities allows us to stroll through its tourist streets or visit Beng Mealea, a magnificent temple outside the city (120 kilometers round trip). This temple was the setting for the 2004 film "Deux Frères" by Jean-Jacques Annaud. In any case, the hotel pool will be appreciated in the heat of the day. |
- Accommodation: 4-star hotel with swimming pool
- Included meals: breakfast and lunch on the road
- One-hour relaxing 4 hands massage
DAY 7 | SIEM REAP TO PREAH VIHEAR | 280KM
The second leg of the journey
We start the second leg of our journey by heading north to the Thai border. A stop along the way allows us to discover the Temple of Women. At lunchtime, we visit another less-visited temple, Koh Ker, which is located further from Siem Reap. If we don't arrive too late, we have the opportunity to take a mountain road that leads to the temple of Preah Vihear. Otherwise, we will relax at a quiet and pleasant resort. The temple can wait until tomorrow. |
|
- Accommodation: 3-star resort with swimming pool
- Included meals: breakfast and lunch
DAY 8 | PREAH VIHEAR TO STUNG TRENG | 250KM
A long day on the road
This long route allows us to drive faster. At lunchtime, we stop in front of the waterfalls on the Laos border. Depending on the season, these are really impressive and roaring. We then continue our journey on red earth roads before arriving at our city stage on the banks of the Mekong. We arrive at the hotel before 4pm, and have time to enjoy the Mekong River at Stung Treng. |
- Accommodation: 3-star hotel well run by a Khmer family
- Included meals: breakfast and lunch on the road
DAY 9 | STUNG TRENG TO KAMPONG CHAM | 260KM
A charming stopover on the Mekong
Our last big stop along the Mekong takes us through many charming little villages. Depending on the road conditions and the time we spend there, there is a good chance that we will take a barge to cross the river. Our stopover town is a little known but charming town. Its 1000-meter bamboo bridge is very well known in Cambodia. |
|
- Accommodation: 3-star resort
- Included meals: breakfast and lunch
DAY 10 | BACK IN PHNOM PENH | 120KM
A leisurely return to Phnom Penh
We wind our way back to Phnom Penh along the Mekong, taking our time to soak up the sights and sounds of the riverside villages. As we pass through each village, we see how vital it is for the people who live there to be close to the water. Children wave and smile as we ride by on our "big" motorcycles, and we can't stop smiling back. In the early evening, we arrive back at our luxurious resort for a debriefing and complimentary aperitif. After a long day on the road, it's the perfect way to relax and unwind.
|
Note: This is your last day with your motorcycle, the massage will get you back in shape to forget the aches or other cramps after this long 10-day trip.
